This is the first time the concept of a “beneficial owner” has been explicitly recognized in Viet Nam’s enterprise law, with the aim of enhancing transparency in business operations and preventing hidden ownership structures.
The inclusion of provisions on “beneficial owners” in the amended 2025 Enterprise Law marks a major step forward, helping businesses understand and comply with the rules, while contributing to the prevention of “shadow” investments and money laundering in the business environment.
