Scientific Workshop “Current situation of law and practical application in commercial dispute resolution by online arbitration, mediation”

On March 15, 2021, Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang – Managing Partner of NHQuang&Associates and President of Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Center (VICMC) had a speech on “Some practical problems in applying the mechanism of online arbitration and mediation for resolution of commercial disputes involving foreign elements in Viet Nam” at the Scientific Workshop “Current situation of law and practical application in commercial dispute resolution by online arbitration, mediation” organized by the Institute of Legal Science, the Ministry of Justice.

The Research by Mr. Quang focuses on the practical opportunities and challenges when conducting some online arbitration and mediation activities in Viet Nam, including issues of substantive law, procedural law, and corporate’s awareness, capacity of the current arbitration and mediation centers, difficulties from courts and judgment enforcement agencies. To be able to apply online arbitration and mediation, Mr. Quang provided his recommendations regarding the role of the State, the pioneering role of arbitration and mediation centers, changes of policies, mechanisms, legal provisions, etc.
