Consultation workshop on solutions for developing a transparent, professional and effective legal services market
On August 25, 2026, within the framework of the EU Justice and Legal Empowerment Programme in Viet Nam – Phase II (EU JULE II), the Department of Judicial Support, Ministry of Justice, organized a consultation workshop on solutions for developing a transparent, professional and effective legal services market in Northern Viet Nam. The workshop provided a forum for regulatory authorities, lawyers, experts and legal service providers to exchange views on the current state of the market, institutional bottlenecks and solutions to promote a transparent and healthy competitive legal services market that can better meet the needs of individuals and businesses in the context of international integration and digital transformation.

At the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang, Founding and Managing Partner of NHQuang&Associates, was invited to present an overview of the development of law firms and the legal services market in Vietnam, drawing on his experience leading a professional, large-scale practice. He shared insights gained from organizing and managing NHQuang & Associates over the past 22 years, as well as international best practices from the International Bar Association (IBA) and the American Bar Association (ABA). His presentation synthesized market realities, common challenges faced by law firms, and existing legal constraints. Mr. Quang also proposed strategies for the professional and sustainable development of law firms, including establishing clear development and branding strategies, refining internal governance and financial management, enhancing professional quality and client experience, and prioritizing data management alongside the adoption of technology and AI in legal practice.
