The Seminar discussed the role of lawyers in commercial mediation; procedures for mediation and dialogue at Courts; extension of clients’ understanding about commercial mediation.

Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang, Managing Partner of NHQuang&Associates, and also the president of Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Center (VICMC), and Mr. Ngo The Tien, former judge of the People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City shared with the Seminar some issues related to Court-annexed mediation, including results obtained from the model pilotted in some localities and Ho Chi Minh City; skills deemed necessary by mediators from the pilot model; skills that lawyers should pay attention to during mediation at court for supporting their clients. At the end of his speech, Mr. Quang also called for the participants’ opinions and comments for the Draft Law on Court-annexed mediation for completing this Draft under the general principles and spirit of commercial mediation.
