On the morning of December 26, 2023, the Central Committee for Internal Affairs in co-ordination with the United Nations Development Programm (UNDP) organized a Consultation Workshop on “Report on the identification and prevention of corruption in the public sector related to the private sector – International experiences and recommendations for Viet Nam”. The workshop was held in Ha Noi and co-chaired by leaders of the Law Department, Central Committee for Internal Affairs, and Mr. Patrick Haverman – Officer in Charge, UNDP in Viet Nam. In addition, representatives and experts from various organizations and ministries participated in the workshop, notably the Government Inspectorate, School of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi Procuratorate University, etc.
At the Workshop, Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang, Managing Partner of NHQuang&Associates, represented the Research Team to present an overview of the Report results, focusing on (i) international standards and practices relating to the identification and prevention of corruption, (ii) policy, legal framework, and practices relating to the identification and prevention of corruption in Viet Nam. In addition, conclusions and recommendations to enhance the identification of corrupt acts and improve the effectiveness of corruption preventive measures in Viet Nam were also shared by Mr. Quang. The workshop received numerous opinions and practical experiences from experts and representatives of several relevant organizations and ministries to identify and prevent corruption as well as suggestions and comments for the Research team to improve the Report.
