Following the meeting of the Drafting Team of the Manual on Out-of-Court Workouts (June 13, 2025), on the morning of June 16, 2025, the Vietnam Banks Association (VNBA) held a meeting for the Drafting Team of the Code of Conduct for Debt Collection. With the goal of establishing a culture of conduct in debt collection activities, this Code of Conduct is one of the important documents developed by VNBA with technical support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung – Vice President and General Secretary of VNBA, with the participation of many representatives of credit institutions and financial institutions such as Vietcombank, Vietinbank, VPBank, TBC bank, HD Saison, Home Credit, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang briefly introduced the Draft Code of Conduct for Debt Collection.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang, as an independent expert of the IFC, briefly introduced the Draft Code of Conduct for Debt Collection. Accordingly, the code is being developed based on international practices and revolves around three pillars: (i) clearly defining the acts that can and cannot be done; (ii) establishing a monitoring and compliance mechanism; (iii) developing a transparent process for receiving and handling complaints. In addition, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung and several representatives attending also gave their opinions on continuing to perfect the code, and agreed on the next steps related to the process of drafting and issuing this document in the coming time.
