Ministerial-level scientific workshop on “Lawyer management model in some countries in the world – Recommendations for Viet Nam”
The context of increasingly deep international integration in economics and law necessitates changes in the management of lawyers to better align with practical realities. On the afternoon of April 25, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang, Managing Partner of NHQuang & Associates, attended a ministerial-level scientific workshop titled “Lawyer Management Models in Selected Countries – Recommendations for Vietnam,” organized by the Institute for Legal Strategy and Science under the Ministry of Justice. Numerous scholars, policymakers, and practicing lawyers gathered at the workshop to present papers on the lawyer management model in Vietnam, comparative models from other legal systems, and practical issues in lawyer management.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang presented his research on “Lawyer Management Models in Common Law Countries – Recommendations for Vietnam.” The countries selected for his study included the United Kingdom (covering England and Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland), the United States, and Singapore. In each jurisdiction, the study focused on three core aspects: (i) the entities responsible for lawyer management, (ii) management principles, and (iii) the scope of management activities. Based on the findings, Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang also drew comparisons with the current lawyer management framework in Vietnam and proposed several recommendations, including amendments to the Law on Lawyers and improvements in the legal practitioner management system, aiming to safeguard the right to practice and enhance the quality of lawyers in Vietnam.
