Notes when franchising abroad

Building a successful brand and then franchising to other individuals or organizations to expand the scale and develop the system is a fairly common practice in the world as well as in Vietnam. When starting a business by buying a franchise, many people think that they will skip the time of building a brand and still easily make a profit. But in reality, when starting to implement, the results are sometimes contrary to initial expectations. In our country, franchising, especially franchising in young businesses, is happening quite vigorously while not fully understanding this model, leading to unreasonable application of franchising forms, then conflicts and disputes.

Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang, Managing Partner of NHQuang&Associates, discussed with the Business and Law program of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Radio (VOH) about legal regulations related to franchising activities abroad.

Listen to Mr. Quang’s discussion here (Vietnamese only).
