The right to defense is one of the mandatory standards in fair trial, protected by international human rights law and international custom. The Report of right to defense in criminal procedure law and practice in Viet Nam. The Report was conducted in the context of the Court sector being reformed the judicial system, and planning to amend the Criminal Procedure Code 2003.
