Today’s Issues Program – VTV1 Channel

The  Ha Noi capital is the heart of the country, the national political and administrative center, and also a heritage city with a rich and diverse cultural heritage fund, which are historical relics, spiritual architectural works, monuments and especially the old quarter and old streets.

The  Ha Noi capital leads the country with nearly 6,000 cultural and historical relics, including special national relics and world cultural heritages. However, of the 1,617 degraded relics, up to 30% of the relics need restoration but do not have the resources. In addition, Ha Noi also has the largest number of craft villages in the country with over 1,350 craft villages and villages with crafts. However, up to now, there are only more than 800 craft villages left, which means a decrease of about 40%. In the process of urbanization, many craft villages have gradually disappeared, along with the number of people doing the craft has also decreased.

Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang, Managing Partner of NHQuang&Associates, was a guest on the program “Today’s Issues” broadcast on VTV1 on May 14, 2024. In the program, Mr. Quang shared new points in the Draft Law on the Capital (amended) on mechanisms and measures that can improve the quality of restoration of relics, protection of public and cultural spaces, support mechanisms for the development of craft villages, craftsmen, night-time economic development, night-time cultural spaces, and cultural industries. Mr. Quang also shared about the application of the model of commercial and cultural development zones (BID) in Ha Noi to bring cultural vitality to Ha Noi’s typical cultural spaces.
