Nguyen Thuy Duong
Nguyen Thuy Duong is now acting as a Senior Associate of NHQuang&Associates law firm. She is the Team Leader of the Research Team at NHQuang&Associates. She specializes in policy research and advocacy, Policy Impact Assessment (PIA), administrative procedures reform and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)’ operation in Vietnam. She also advises clients on energy, insurance, contract and labor-related matters and compliance monitoring.
Duong has had several articles published in legal journals and scientific journals with various topics, such as policy response in Technology Revolution 4.0, legal support for startups, Grab, Uber and policy making in Vietnam. Duong and Mr. Nguyen Hung Quang (the Managing Partner of NHQuang&Associates) have co-authored some papers, typically Contract Interpretation and Unfair Terms in Vietnamese Contract Law – Chapter 22 in the book “Studies in the Contracts of Law – Volume III Contents of Contracts and Unfair Terms”, which is co-edited by Professor Mindy Chen and Professor Stefan Voganauer and published by Oxford University Press in 2020. In the year of 2021, Duong and Mr. Quang would have their Chapter on Property Management Relationships and ‘Trusts’ in Vietnam in the book “Asia-Pacific Trusts Law: Theory and Practice in Context” (co-edited by Associate Professor Ying Khai Liew and Professor Matthew Harding) published by Hart Publishing.
Before joining NHQuang, Duong had worked for several NGOs. Duong got Excellent Degree, “Excellent Valedictorian” of Ha Noi Law University in 2012. She has also participated in a variety of international training activities, for instance, Asia Pacific Regional Feminist Legal Theory & Practice Training in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2012, Training for Trainers (TOT) on Feminist Legal Theory & Practice in Asia Pacific Regional, Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2013. In 2011, she was one of Vietnamese representatives attending Mali Youth Summit by UNAIDS in Bamako, Mali.
Duong is now studying MPA Public Policy and Management from the University of York, United Kingdom.
